So, guys... I know a few of you have heard that we've been wanting to get more time to work on a secondary game. The truth is... we have been working on it. This has been a project in the making for the last several months, working together and collaborating with a bunch rather knowledgeable developers during the process. When we're not working on the server or our other obligations, we're working on this.
We've recently been asked about the project by quite a few people, so we figured why not show some sneak peaks. Let us showcase to you some images of the project we've been working on. We have been custom building our own engine loosely based off the java engine Mojang created, but adding in some better DirectX 11 support for higher graphical rendering, including shading, fog/mist, lighting opacity and transparency. Right now we plan only to have this work on Windows environments.
Here are just a few images we've put together to show you guys. We've fleshed out the terrain generation rather nicely (thanks Mojang for the great ideas!) but haven't done any unit modelling (e.g. for players/monsters/animals). Hopefully we can tackle that and show you more by the end of April.
